There are also several turnouts where drivers can stop to take pictures.

  • Is 17-Mile Drive only open to cars?

    Fundamentally a road that passes through an exclusive neighborhood, 17-Mile Drive is open to cars, pedestrians and cyclists. The privately managed roadway is not open to motorcycles, however. While the road is open 24-hours per day, scenic views are best enjoyed during daylight hours. While the drive only stretches 17 miles, it's best to allow several hours due to slow traffic on the roadway.
